Why is my QR code paused, how do I activate it?
Dynamic QR codes can be paused for several reasons. Digital Business Cards are also dynamic QR codes, and their limits count toward your total active dynamic QR code allowance.
For example, on the Free plan you can have up to 10 active dynamic QR codes in total, which includes only one active Digital Business Card. Paid plans have higher limits, but each plan tier still has its own Digital Business Card allowance.
1. Active dynamic QR code limit reached
Each plan has a set limit for active dynamic QR codes. Once you hit this limit, any new QR codes you create will be paused.
How to reactivate:
- Pause other active QR codes you don’t intend to use, then activate the one you want.
- Upgrade your plan to increase both your active dynamic QR code limit and Digital Business Card limit.
2. Scan limit has been exhausted
Dynamic QR codes have a scan limit per plan. Once this is reached, affected QR codes are automatically paused.
On the Free plan, the monthly scan limit is 1,000 scans across all dynamic QR codes.
How to reactivate:
- Wait until your monthly scan limit resets.
- Upgrade to a plan with a higher scan limit.
3. Paid plan has expired
When your paid plan ends, your account switches to the Free plan. Any QR codes beyond the Free plan’s limits will be paused.
How to reactivate:
- Renew or upgrade your plan — paused QR codes will automatically resume.
4. Manually paused by you
If you’ve manually paused a QR code, it remains inactive until reactivated.
How to reactivate:
- Go to your dashboard, click the three dots next to the QR code, and select Activate.
